WHERE TO GO FOR CHEAP DRINKS IN LIVERPOOL
Maybe you are visiting Liverpool on a Hen or Stag party? You may be visiting friends or taking your partner away for the weekend. Maybe you’re a local like me and want to know what places to go to that won’t break the bank. Whatever the reason The Romans have you covered.
We all know the feeling the morning after the night before. Waking up with flash backs of you waving your card around thinking your billy big bollocks paying £12 for a drink and not batting an eyelid. You know you have done some serious damage, but it’s going to take you a good few days to build up the courage to check your bank balance. I’ve done it. I do it every time I go out.
So, if you’re like me and money stops having any value after a few drinks you may want to check out this little guide to find some bets places in Liverpool for cheap drinks & happy hours.
The famous Mathew Street. Most people coming into the city have heard of this place and head straight for it. It’s home to the famous Cavern club were The Beatles played and has lots of live music. If you get down here early there are bars here that sell pints for as little as £2. If you want somewhere lively and cheap this would be a good place to start. There are a lot of dives on this street but there are some really good places too like Wall of Fame which has great live music & happy hours.
BAR CAVA, WOOD STREET
A little bar not too far from the lively concert square. Most locals know about this place. It sells shots of tequila for £1 so things can get pretty messy here quite quickly. What’s more they come in nearly every flavour imaginable – coffee, chilli and even baked bean. Can’t imagine they sell many baked bean flavoured ones.
Shots from £1. Pints from £2. Not a bad place to start if your heading down to concert square.
SLATERS BAR, SLATER STREET
Another lively part of town. I remember this place as they used to do something called a “quad vod” which was basically was 4 shots of vodka and a mixer in a pint glass. Not sure if they do them anymore. They do cheap drinks though. You can get two cocktails for £5.

Drinks include bombs for £1.50, 4 Bottles of Bud for £10 and house wine just £10 per bottle. Available from 5pm-12pm. Not bad ehy?

This place is fairly new to Liverpool. It comes with a great reputation from Manchester and specialises in Pizza, Cocktails & Ice-Cold Beers. This is a really cool little place with roof terrace, the pizza is great, and it has some really good value deals too.
Head over here from 5pm to 9pm – Sunday to Friday for Happy Hour. 2-4-1 Cocktails and cheap plonk.
So, there you have it. Plenty to go on there with two of the bars on the same street. Can’t ask for more than that can you. Remember if you think this would be useful for anyone you know give it a share and spread the word!
